Why have I chosen this career practitioner?
I first had the pleasure of meeting Charlie Dawn at an online WEMterns event earlier this year. I was struck by her energy and ability to make a space feel safe. Charlie then attended a Speak Easy event at Nottingham Playhouse where we got to talk about what writing means to us and how we were first introduced to the Industry. We arranged a coffee meeting where we read each others scripts and I was captivated by Charlie's ability to humanise the everyday and write in a way that is accessible, captivating and funny.

After reading this script I was intrigued to know about her other creative experiences and ventures and wanted to conduct this interview with a specific focus on her recent work with scriptwriting, directing and acting.
How has meeting this practitioner influenced me?
I have the honour of not only meeting Charlie but also being able to consider her a friend. Surrounding myself with creatives like Charlie-Dawn is integral to my journey as a creative as I believe we are able to help each other grow both creatively and individually.
